Three-layer clay minerals like hectorite possess the unique ability to swell, temporarily and reversibly absorbing water within their intermediate layers. When used in tile adhesives, they impart the perfect consistency for applications, resulting in improved workability, sag resistance, and enhanced water retention. This, in turn, ensures the ideal conditions for cement hardening and precise control over open/correction times.
